BOWLING, MEAL IN TOWN AND INTER-TOWN QUIZ IN GIRVAN
(see who won for the first time since 2005!).
Our next event is the Burns Supper in St Germain-en-Laye on 21 January! Book now!
Racenight in February and our French friends will be visiting us in May, not to mention a school visit in March. "Follow" us (click on button above left) to keep up-to-date on our events as they are published.

Post-bowling dinner at Vito's

Vito's coped very well with serving up meals to all 22 participants. Those of us who had been bowling were ready for some nourishment and were pleased to be joined by some more ATTA members for the meal.

Bowling afternoon

We had three lanes at the L.A. Bowling with a total of 16 participants/supporters. Mona Savill had the highest individual score and Isabell presented her with a box of After Eights, which Mona kindly shared out at the meal subsequently. It was great to see some younger members at the ATTA event.

Ayr - the Winners!

For the first time since 2005, a team from Ayr won the Inter-Town Twinning Quiz! This year the event was held at Girvan Bowling Club where the Girvan town twinners made us very welcome and served up some delicious grub. I got hooked on the Chinese duck sandwiches! There were three teams from the ATTA. The winning team consisted of Elspeth, Gordon, Jackie Duff and Isabella Dovaston. Well done for bringing the shield back to Ayr!

Mid September visit to St Germain-en-Laye

The recent visit by 12 members of ATTA to St Germain-en-Laye was a great success.  We had a very full  programme, which included visits to the musical fountains at Versailles, a Seine cruise and a fully escorted day visit to Rouen.

Annual Inter Town Twinning Quiz on 18 November

We have several people interested in taking part in the annual Inter Town Twinning Quiz, which will be held this year in Girvan.
If you'd like to come along that night, please email ayrtowntwin@live.com before 5th November so we can include you in a team!

If you'd like to come, the costs are £4.25 per person (£14.00 per family of 4) for the bowling and £12.99 or £14.99 for the meal (depending on whether you wish 2 or 3 courses).

Evening walk at 18.30 on Thursday, 11 August - all welcome!

OK, so it poured and the evening amble round Belleisle and Rozelle didn't take place but a few stalwarts and even a couple of new members met at the Abbotsford for a nice sociable chat!

Wine-tasting on 20 July and another in October

The wine-tasting and visit to the extensive cellars under the pavements of Ayr was a very successful occasion.

The wise participants arranged to walk home after a strong coffee to revive them after sampling a selection of excellent wines.

Don't worry if you missed the occasion - there will be another chance in October. Places are limited to 15, so put your name down now!
